Position Description
Busy, successful, medical clinic looking for Certified Coder to function in Leadership role for a team of 6+ coders. North Suburban Location!
The Lead Coding Specialist's primary responsibility is to coordinate workflow and work processes for group of coders that work in surgical coding as well as clinic and physician coding positions. But wait....there's more. The ideal person would also function as mentor and educator to bring entry level coders up to speed on best practices for the whole department. Do you have training and educator mentality? Are you the coder who knows how to get things done right the first time? YOU are who we need to talk to!
This person will supervise and direct the activities for a staff of 8, while also implementing new processes in the coding area and monitor compliance with regulatory agencies. The Lead Coding Specialist has a working knowledge of various payment methodologies and is responsible for ICD-9, CPT and HCPC coding systems and CMS coding requirements.
The position will be working in a busy and active environment. Generous benefits and compensation await the person who can undertake the challenge. Suburban location, easily accessible, and great working environment.
