Position open for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join the engineering team of a manufacturing company. This is a direct hire position. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in transforming conceptual engineering designs into detailed, accurate, and comprehensive technical drawings. As the Mechanical Drafter, you will collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to produce high-quality drawings that serve as a blueprint for the manufacturing and construction processes. Knowledge of Solidworks is key, and knowledge of MasterCam is helpful.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Drafter:
Create detailed and precise technical drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and calculations.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software Solidworks to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
Work closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and specifications.
Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and enhance drawings.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies.
Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings.
Effectively communicate technical information to team members and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design-related challenges.
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in CAD software.
Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications of the Mechanical Drafter:
Proven experience as a Draftsman or Detailer in an engineering environment.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Associate degree or equivalent in EngineeringDrafting, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Draftsman/Detailer in an engineering setting.
