JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network (BTN) has a great opportunity for a Vice President (VP) of Finance! The VP of Finance will manage and oversee the entire P&L and Cash Flow of the Big Ten Network, reporting to the SVP, Finance of Fox Sports. The VP of Finance will provide support for the President of BTN via informed analysis and regular reporting as well as separate deliverables for both Sports management and Fox Corporate leadership.

This role is hybrid and will require work onsite in our Chicago, IL office.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of 5 including a Finance Director and support staff for Finance and Payroll.
• Review and submit all reporting related to monthly and quarterly close
• Manage annual budget, long-range plan and monthly forecast process
• Serve as key business partner to all BTN executives and their teams
• Oversee financial controls and policies, including AP, AR, T&E, Payroll, Procurement, etc
• Serve as a liaison with Affiliate Sales and Ad Sales Finance leadership to maintain visibility into top-line review
• Build and develop relationships with the Big Ten Conference executive team
• Ad Hoc and special projects as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 10+ years experience working in finance
• Exceptional team leadership qualities
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and external partners
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High proficiency in using computer systems particularly Advanced Excel, Microsoft Word, Database Management skills, and ERPs e.g. Workday
• Strong independent judgment and ability to work on multiple assignments at once
• Ability to operate successfully in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting

• Sports or entertainment experience
