Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect, repair and maintain the continuous cookers.
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace defective machinery.
• Repair equipment as needed.
• Operate machinery and tools in a safe manner.
• Maitain accurate records of work performed and meter readings as needed.
• Design, fabricate, weld and install equipment as required.
• Oversee equipment operation as well as order supplies for department.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of assigned work.
• Assist in training junior mechanics.
• Other duties as required or assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of hand and power tools,including welders and torch cutters.
• Mechanical repair and equipment maintenance knowledge.
• Attention to detail when working with diagrams, prints, and manuals.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate with management and fellow employees.
• Must have the ability to effectively understand proper documentation and handling of paperwork involved with departmental operations.
• Requires the ability to bend, lift, carry, push, and pull varying weights up to 50 pounds, sometimes in awkward positions.
• Job requires extensive walking, climbing, and some crawling.
• Ability to work scheduled hours as necessary.
