Assist engineers in product research, design, development, testing, and production, related to new product development and product modifications.
Build prototypes and verification samples during product development process.
Set up and perform verification testing against product requirements and specifications.
Perform various lab testing, write up test reports, and maintain records for agency certification and regulatory compliance.
Operate/maintain lab testing equipment and lab certification.
Provides technical support to internal/external customers including sales, quality, and manufacturing.
Support various engineering service activities including product change requests.
Support manufacturing and RMA/Quality issues as they arise.
Requirements include:
Associate Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Working knowledge in the use of engineering lab and assembly equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and machine tools.
Ability to read and follow schematic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Computer literate with PC systems and demonstrable skills in performing internet searches, use of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and use of MRP systems
Working knowledge of CAD, experience with product BOMs and engineering documentation.
Excellent communication skills, (written and verbal).
Strong attention to details, highly organized.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
Previous work experience in lighting industry is a plus.
